Explain, please. What kind of show? What station? Does it stream?

As far as a true blending transitions, I always loved the way they made these 74 co figs work. No shortcuts here.

The Wheel itself is usually a letdown once they start singing; but the transition itself is often the best part of an '80s show.
Also, Dark Star>Sugar Magnolia.
Not done very often; but when it was, like 10/31/71 or 4/8/72, it's mind-boggling.

Other transitions:
China > Rider as many have mentioned, probably top of my list;
Not Fade Away > GDTRFB > Not Fade Away;
Estimated > Eyes.
Regarding other bands,Umphrey's McGee also come to mind. I thoroughly recommend their "Jimmy Stewart: The Album" which you can buy via livedownloads:

Dew->UJB Reprise (especially 11-17-73). The transition in question is short but chill- and/or tear-inducing.
IMHO, the sweetest of the spectacular Playing->UJB->Dew->UJB->Playing sequences they only did 3 or 4 times.
